Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer for Spain, Portugal At the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), we believe that commissioning is a critical aspect of ensuring that mechanical systems operate efficiently and effectively. As a Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in overseeing the commissioning process for our projects in Spain and Portugal. As a Senior Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will be part of this team and contribute to the success of our projects. Primary Responsibilities 1. Commissioning Management: Oversee the entire mechanical building commissioning process from start to finish. Ensure that all necessary tests and inspections are completed on time and within budget. 2. Commissioning Planning: Develop comprehensive commissioning plans, schedules, reports, checklists, and test scripts for mechanical systems. Work closely with the project team to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and aligned with the commissioning process. 3. Certification Strategies: Develop and implement certification strategies specific to mechanical components. Work with third-party organizations to obtain necessary certifications and approvals. 4. Data Management: Record and manage detailed progress prerequisites for mechanical systems using our project management software. Focus on mechanical aspects and ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available to the project team. Preferred Responsibilities Experience in delivering projects as CxA, Level 4 or Heat Load testing. This will give you an edge in understanding complex mechanical systems and developing effective commissioning strategies. Required Qualifications 1. A minimum of 8 years of commissioning experience with a strong focus on mechanical systems. Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and meeting deadlines. 2. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services systems. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in commissioning best practices. 3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes. 4. High attention to detail and ability to multitask. Prioritize tasks and manage competing demands to meet project deadlines. 5. Strong problem-solving skills. Analyze issues and develop creative solutions to overcome obstacles and challenges. Preferred Qualifications 1. Commissioning professional certification from an accredited agency. This demonstrates your expertise and commitment to the profession. 2. Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as engineering, architecture, or construction management. This provides a solid foundation for your career in commissioning and mechanical engineering. 3. Professional Engineer license. This enhances your credibility and expertise in mechanical engineering and commissioning. 4. Data Center commissioning experience. This gives you a unique perspective on high-performance buildings and allows you to develop innovative commissioning strategies. 5. Commissioning certification preferred (CxA, CCP, BCxP, or CBCP). This showcases your expertise and commitment to the profession. 6. Relevant technical expertise such as HVAC load calculation software like Trace or IES. This enables you to analyze complex systems and develop effective commissioning strategies. 7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
