Job Description: * DUTIES AND **RESPONSIBILITIES** - The primary goal of the incumbent is to build the capability of the Colombian National Police (CNP) to carry out aerial eradication safely and effectively by performing instructor pilot and maintenance pilot (IP and MP) duties in Air Tractor AT-802 aircraft. - As required, the incumbent will perform duties as standardization pilot and maintenance evaluator (SP and ME) of contracted and CNP spray pilots. - As required, the incumbent will carry out the CNP Police Aviation Unit (ARAVI) AT-802 training program, in coordination with the INL ARAVI training advisor. - The primary place of work will be the CNP Air Base (Escuela de Aviación Policial) in Mariquita, Tolima. This is a permanent position where the instructors will live and work. - May travel for short periods to various locations throughout the country of Colombia as required. - The incumbent will report directly to the INL ARAVI Standardization Advisor. - The incumbent will assist INL ARAVI Division Chief, Senior Aviation Advisor (SAA), Eradication Advisor, and Standardization Advisor in the execution of his duties as assigned. - Ensure compliance with operational requirements, and aircrew standardization policies, procedures, and current directives (PET/MOAPN). - Maintain high standards, proficiency, and currency as (IP/MP/SP/ME). - Comply with the CNP Operations Directive and guides to aviation standardization and training. - Provide technical and practical advice in accordance with the orders and procedures established by the CNP. - Comply with industrial regulations in all locations. - Coordinate with the other INL ARAVI Aviation Advisors as required. - Assist in the continued development of fixed-wing training, plan syllabi, lesson plans, study guide, briefing guides, grade sheets/criteria, counseling, sheets, and standardization criteria/grade sheets as required. - Aid in development/refinement of CNP training doctrine. - Maintain and enforce CNP ARAVI Safety Aviation Program and Safety Management Systems. - Give briefings on spray operations and AT-802 relative topics as required. - Perform liaison between INL ARAVI and CNP aviation and ground commanders as required. - Maintain cordial relations and open communications with assigned program functional leaders, superiors, coordinators, advisors, police commanders and program directors. **Job Requirements**: **MINIMUM **QUALIFICATIONS** - Must maintain a current FAA class II medical certificate or pass a CNP medical check without restrictions. - (FAA Class II or host nation Civil Aeronautical equivalent).o Hiring Company/Employee should pay any required Medical Examinations. **EDUCATION** - The person filling this position must have completed AT802 course of instruction, equivalent military - Formal Training as a Flight Instructor, or the INL/DoS Air Wing, and/or commercial (ICAO and / or FAA) - At time of hire must possess as a minimum REQUIRED CERTIFICATION mentioned as follows. **REQUIRED **CERTIFICATION** - AA or host nation Certified Flight Instructor and Certified Flight Instrument Instructor - FAA or host nation commercial and instrument airman’s certificate - fixed wing. - FAA or host nation agricultural aircraft operator’s certificate. - Current FAA class II medical certificate or pass CNP medical check. **LANGUAGE **LEVEL**: - Spanish: Level 2 - Limited working knowledge - English: Level 2 - Limited working knowledge **EXPERIENCE** - Have flown a minimum of 4,000 hours as a pilot in fixed-wing aircraft. - Flown a minimum of 1,000 hours in turboprop crop duster/aerial spray aircraft and a minimum of 250 hours in the AT-802. - Experience as a spray pilot in the CNP Aerial Eradication Program. - Flown a minimum of 300 hours of instructor pilot time. - Flown a minimum of 50 hours of maintenance pilot time or prior designation as a maintenance pilot in the CNP Aerial Eradication Program. - Flight experience in fixed-wing firefighting preferred. **KNOWLEDGE** OF* - The incumbent will be familiar with all relevant CNP, DOD, and INL Office of Aviation aircrew training program, policies and regulations; Aircraft Technical manuals, SOP’s, and general aviation regulations, adhering to applicable aviation standards. - General knowledge of aeronautical activities, ICAO, FAA, and Colombian aviation regulations, with emphasis on low-level and tactical flight procedures. - Practical experience and academic preparation that allows for teaching and providing instruction on aeronautical activities. **SKILLS **IN** - Must have the ability and skills to communicate effectively with the host nation and U.S. officials. Additionally, should be able to communicate with general laborers. - Organize, analyze, schedule and maintain accurate records of individual work performed. - Excellent leadership skills, well-motivated, outstanding intercommunication skills. **ABILITY **TO** - Understand and follow oral and written instructions in English and
