Job Title Manager, Application Development Summary of the role: The Manager of Media Application Development is responsible for supervising the development staff in the Columbia location. This role provides leadership to a team of Engineers and oversees the participation of these engineers on individual projects aimed at building software solutions that enable the Media Business unit to efficiently manage and optimize media campaigns. This role requires skills in leadership, planning, coaching, and the technical subject matter expertise necessary to deliver high quality systems. Skills include technical competencies in Object Oriented Programming, Web UI development tools/languages, integration technologies, planning and project execution. This role directs highly technical engineers that will be participating in development projects with remote teams. This position requires substantial communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact and collaborate with other IT teams including application development, testing, operations, and project management as well as business team members. In this role you'll/Your main responsibilities: Providing technical and organizational leadership in the development of Amadeus software solutions. Creating and maintaining an environment that encourages skill growth, teamwork, and a high level of engagement. Assuring team members understand their assignments and are tracking to the development schedule. Raising issues when they occur and are impacting team member’s ability to deliver on time with quality. Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Amadeus business and technical teams. Creating a team that can affectively participate in leveraging technologies to provide business value. About the Ideal Candidate: Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline Experience in an Information Technology role (minimum 6 years). Proven leadership and people management skills (minimum 3 years) Demonstrated leadership including the ability to grow and develop other people. Ability to lead a team in a distributed working environment Demonstrated ability to manage small high performing teams Ability to plan the appropriate resources, and lead the project execution to ensure timely completion of projects Ability to manage team members who are working on multiple initiatives Ability to size, scope and prioritize opportunities. Ability to multi-task and context switch across multiple projects with diverse technology and business requirements. Ability to analyze available facts and make priority decisions based on an understanding of the business goals and drivers. 3+ years of experience working with a combination of the following application development technologies: o J2EE o React o Python o Airflow 5+ years of experience in application architecture, technical architecture and information architecture, including specifically: o Web based UI Development o Integration Architecture o Experience in software development in an RDBMS environment. o Demonstrated expertise in various technologies and tools, including Java, React, Python, Web Services, JSON o Systems resiliency architecture and implementation o Security of web-based solutions Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with IT leadership teams, and with the ability to build coalitions across the IT and business organizational matrix Ability to analyze and learn rapidly changing technologies Ability to think strategically and implement iteratively Excellent English communication skills, written and oral. Ability to identify process improvements and develop and present a business case.
