Job Description: We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team, specializing in finance initiatives and projects such as billing automation, financial reporting pipelines, and the design/implementation of new relational database structures. This role will bridge technical expertise with financial acumen, building scalable data solutions that enhance accuracy, streamline workflows, and empower data-driven decision-making for finance teams within Grip. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces iterative improvement, and excels at collaborating cross-functionally with finance stakeholders, analysts, and tech teams. You’ll directly impact critical outcomes like reducing billing errors, accelerating financial close cycles, and enabling real-time financial insights. Specific responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain finance-focused ETL pipelines using tools like Databricks. Improve data quality, report latency, and pipeline performance through optimization. Implement data validation and cleansing processes. Develop integrations with third-party APIs. Architect and maintain cloud-based Data Warehouse solutions, including designing star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables, and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs). Develop and maintain Power BI data models, reports, and dashboards. Partner with finance, operations, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Advanced SQL and Python for ETL development (familiarity with PySpark preferred). Proficiency in PowerBi (DAX) or similar BI tool. Experience with relational database design and development. Expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and data lake/warehouse architectures. Familiarity with Excel. Familiarity with RESTful APIs (authentication, pagination, rate limits). Strong communication skills to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders. Problem-solving mindset to troubleshoot data discrepancies. Preferred: Understanding of Financial data sets and processes. Experience with Databricks or similar tools. Experience with real time data streaming. Experience with Git. Knowledge of DevOps.
