The Medical Assistant Float will perform a variety of patient care activities and supportive services across assigned clinics, under the guidance of the Clinic Director and/or Chief Nursing Officer, to facilitate prompt, quality care. Responsibilities: Attend in-services or complete make-up assignments. Follow policies and procedures to ensure positive patient outcomes. Handle laboratory specimens appropriately. Maintain compliance with TJC, DHS, CHDP, and Medi-Cal Managed Care requirements. Perform waived testing and phlebotomy. Travel to various locations as needed; support clinic productivity. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: At least 1 year of experience in an ambulatory care or similar setting (highly desirable). Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or other advanced resuscitation training. High School diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant diploma from an approved program. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Ability to travel within San Diego County; valid driver’s license, insurance, and meeting driver requirements (age 21+, clean driving record, no violations or suspensions within 3 years, no DUI or reckless driving in past 7 years).
