Job Description What we’re working on at Slang Slang started at MIT as a research project on using AI and NLP to make learning a new language as efficient as possible. Our technology powers a highly adaptive e-learning platform that offers an unprecedented variety of specialized English courses and proficiency tests for career development in over one hundred fields like Sales, Finance, Logistics, Medicine, and Law. With just a small team, we’ve already created the largest professional English offering in the world. We’re a company in our growth stage, focusing on refining a business model for a novel SaaS product focused on our B2B segments. The Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying and qualifying sales opportunities for Slang across Latin America. The primary responsibilities of this role include: Updating and constructing structured databases with key contact and decision-maker information. Developing effective commercial strategies to identify potential clients efficiently. Researching relevant information that will help you penetrate the market. Contacting and qualifying potential customers. Managing leads through the sales pipeline by setting appointments, following up on leads, and tracking progress towards meeting sales goals. Beyond that, the skills you’ll develop in the position will lay the foundation for a successful career in high-tech sales. After mastering the sales qualification process, the BDR will begin to pursue leads of their own to prepare for future work as a Sales Executive. There is a path for career growth within Slang for the right candidate willing to learn and work toward advancing with us. Requirements A degree in business, management, or related fields. 6+ months of relevant experience in sales, or related areas (internship experience is valid). Effective oral and written communication skills. Great attention to detail. Interest in developing a career in Sales. Goal-oriented. Creative problem-solving skills. Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher level of English. A plus: previous experience doing cold calling, meetings with clients, and/or working with CRMs. Interested?
