A day in the life: The Web Development Manager (Shopify, Wordpress) oversees the web development division by managing the people, as a coach, leader, mentor, problem-solver, and do-er, alongside at the account level through executive, technical, and strategic support. This person is the go-to for “escalation” related items as they pertain to clients and internal team members, jumping in to support, coach, do, and mentor while ensuring client retention, employee retention, and product quality metrics remain healthy. Responsibilities: Escalation Support: Support team members and account teams to problem solve any challenges that may be present at an account and/or personnel level. Technical Client Lead: Oversee kickoff of high priority client roster, ensuring account excellence across entire book of web development client roster. Team Management: Manage the people and processes within the development team. Responsible for team organization, and ensuring that the team meets project goals and deadlines. Coaching: Focus on coaching team members, guiding their development, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment, and supporting their professional growth. Stakeholder Communication: Main point of contact between the development team and non-technical stakeholders. Scoping of New Projects: Define technical requirements, assess feasibility, allocate resources effectively and establish realistic timelines. Performance Management: Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback of web dev developers. Resource Allocation: Hire and allocate resources, both human and technical, to ensure projects are adequately staffed and supported. Role Requirements: Educational Background: A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Technical Expertise: A strong technical background (Shopify, Wordpress). Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. New Business / Sales Experience: Experience scoping out new projects for net-new clients. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Problem-Solving Abilities: Adept at identifying and solving problems that arise during the development process. Strategic Thinking: Ability to align software development efforts with organizational goals. Business Acumen: Understanding the business context and how software development contributes to the company's objectives. Adaptability: Open to learning new technologies, tools, and methodologies. Experience: Previous experience in a technical leadership role. Language Proficiency: Bilingual- English and Spanish are required. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Client Retention and Escalation Management: Timeliness and clarity of project updates to non-technical stakeholders; 90% Client Retention Rate. Project Timeliness: 100% of projects completed within agreed upon timelines. Quality of Deliverables: Establish formal and effective QC process. Team Management: Establish bandwidth related KPI metrics. Team Development: Develop team training roadmap with ~75% of team involved in trainings.
