Position Summary The Youth Care Specialist Supervisor provides leadership and supervision of the Youth Care Specialists. Responsibilities include development and performance management of direct reports, scheduling, and participating in the recruiting process. The supervisor ensures the safe and secure operation of the program, compliance with contract and legal requirements, and motivates the team through effective leadership. Essential Job Duties Supervise team members and youth according to policies to ensure safety and security; report incidents outside policies; Assist with work schedule development to maintain required ratios; Provide performance feedback, conduct evaluations, and suggest incentives for staff development; Instruct youth in facility and equipment care, supervise safe handling of property, and ensure safety measures; Supervise academic, vocational, and motivational activities on and off campus; Serve as a role model and advisor for youth and team members; Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors; Utilize Behavior Modification System for youth redirection and coaching; May dispense medication and provide first aid and CPR during emergencies; Assist in establishing youth conduct and discipline, participate in review meetings; Participate in trips and activities, possibly working extended hours or on-call; Maintain crisis intervention and restraint certifications as required; Prevent and intervene in altercations, refer disciplinary issues; Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications; Attend training and maintain certifications and licenses; Operate institute vehicles and transport youth as needed; Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience High School Diploma/GED required; Six months of supervisory experience required; At least one year of experience working with youth, preferably in Juvenile Justice.
