Business Unit Director – Pharmaceuticals The ideal candidate will be able to appropriately identify the needs of both new and current customers to aid customers in their success using our product. This will be done by developing an appropriate level of communication with clients and internal team members to better understand and mitigate any issues the customers may face. Successful candidates will be responsible to: The overall leadership of the Pharmaceuticals Unit Establish and drive forward the strategic direction of the Business. Develop a plan to enter new strategic growth markets for IMCD Colombia, Peru & Ecuador Implement the vision to make IMCD the leading Pharma Distributor and to become the go-to company for Specialty Distribution Deliver against stretch business growth objectives and financial budgets Ensure that business plans are put in place to deliver the strategy Maintain an open, entrepreneurial and innovative culture with effective communication and involvement from other members of the IMCD team Build and maintain a high performing management team, find ‘best in class’ resources to deliver the strategy in the local country organizations Oversee the management of all Supplier/Principal relationships Drive a culture of sales, business development and entrepreneurial spirit Nurture and establish a collaborative environment. Ensure that Pharma functions as one team Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or Sciences related. An additional business degree or Industry Knowledge would be an advantage. Six to eight (6-8) years of work experience is essential with increasing responsibility in a reputed Pharma business. B2B specific in raw materials sales is appreciated. Targeted Skills & Capabilities Bright and intelligent person, somebody who can deal with concepts and complexity comfortably. Intellectually sharp, capable and agile Excellent leadership skills to lead, manage, drive and motivate a management team and wider organization Proven track record of P&L or commercial management and growth in a reputable pharma company Drive and positive energy, a strong leader and motivator Strong ‘hands on experience’ in driving both revenue and profitability growth Deep business development & marketing knowledge. Track record of developing new routes to markets for new products Good knowledge and understanding of the Pharma business - trends, requirements, differentiators and opportunities Must have strong influencing skills Must have experience in leading Sales and/or Marketing teams, can clearly set the direction and galvanize the team Must have good persuasion & negotiation skills to manage contracts & suppliers Entrepreneurial individual with a positive can-do attitude Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships Overseas experience or knowledge of working Internationally is an advantage IMCD Offers If you want to make a real difference and work for a growing and expertise-driven company, then we’d love to hear from you.
