The Finance function at Everest is expanding to build a strongfoundation to support significant growth of the InternationalInsurance business. Reporting to the International Head of FP&Awhilst; working very closely with the Regional Head of Finance for Latin America, the Latin America FP&A; Manager will partner withkey stakeholders across the business and other functions. They willtake a lead role in delivering the full underwriting P&L; forthe countries and products within the Latin America region, anddriving the annual planning and forecasting cycle as well as thequarterly close process, whilst helping to implement and maintainscalable analysis to support business growth, driving efficiencyand automation. The candidate will have a mindset focused onsystems, processes, and data, as there will be a strong focus oncontinually developing MI to improve forecasting, planning, andactuals variance analysis. Key responsibilities: - Leading thedelivery of the plan, forecast, and close processes for the fullunderwriting P&L;, ensuring alignment between internal planningprocesses and regulatory submissions. - Leading and developing the Latin America FP&A; team, mentoring junior FP&A; employees. -Production and presentation of quarterly results packs tostakeholders across the region (functions & underwritingteams). - Partnering with cost center owners to proactively manageoperating expenses, overseeing production of monthly OpEx packs forall cost center owners, and maintaining the staff cost expensetracker for use in OpEx forecasting. - Identifying variancesagainst plan and forecast, ensuring they are investigated,understood, and resolved where necessary. - Generating varianceanalysis reports, and leading efforts to develop robust financialperformance modelling, including the enhancement of Anaplan(planning and forecasting tool). - Escalating any financial issuesto management and other required stakeholders. - Setting andmonitoring KPIs and business objectives, whilst helping torecommend and deploy strategies for improving underwriting results. - Developing MI and commentary for management by country, product,and function. - Supporting the business to understand the financialimplications of their decisions, and drive both strategic andtactical thinking. - Building partnerships and maintaining strongrelationships with stakeholders across the organization. -Contributing to ad hoc financial projects as required as part ofthe overall finance function. Qualifications, Education &Experience;: - A bachelor’s degree in Business/Economics/Finance/Accountancy is preferred, althoughcandidates possessing a degree or qualification in a related oranalytical discipline will be considered. - A professionalaccounting qualification is required. - A minimum of 5 yearsexperience of financial planning and analysis in an insuranceorganization in Latin America is required. Knowledge, Skills &Competences;: - Strong organizational skills and the ability toeffectively manage time and meet deadlines. - Strong track recordof managerial experience. - Ability to multitask and operateefficiently and effectively in a fast-paced and dynamicenvironment. - Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in MicrosoftExcel and PowerPoint. - Experiencing using Anaplan or similarplanning/forecasting model would be advantageous. - Stronganalytical, problem solving, and technical skills. - Effectivestakeholder management and business partnering skills toeffectively execute plans and implement strategies. - Effectivenegotiation skills with the ability to find “win-win” solutions. -Self-starter, capable of working both independently and within ateam environment. - Strong interpersonal skills, with excellentoral and written communication skills. - Ability to understand andensure compliance with all internal and external management andregulatory controls. - Good understanding of insurance industry andspecific product portfolios to positively impact the underwritingbusiness.
