Join us! Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Principal Data Scientist and AI Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Colombia. Our client is an AI-driven software company specializing in autonomous, resilient supply chain planning and optimization. Headquartered in California, the company’s mission is to enhance supply chain resilience, sustainability, and operational efficiency for manufacturers and enterprises across various sectors, including food, beauty, consumer packaged goods, electronics, aerospace, and construction. The platform includes a digital twin engine that simulates both routine operations and shock scenarios (such as supply chain disruptions, commodity price spikes, and geopolitical events), allowing businesses to proactively test and compare the impact of different decisions on key business outcomes. The solution integrates hundreds of external signals, including macroeconomic, industry-specific, and market data, into its models, enriching AI-driven recommendations with real-world context. The AI agents continuously learn from historical and real-time data, generating alternative scenarios for demand planning, production scheduling, procurement, and logistics. The platform is delivered as a cloud-based, subscription service, with modular adoption for specific use cases (e.g., demand planning, production planning). It integrates via APIs with ERP systems, including SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics. We are seeking highly innovative and energetic principal data scientists with experience in developing enterprise-scale deep learning, forecasting, and decision-making models, who have a strong algorithmic background. Requirements: - At least 5 years of experience with industry building referenceable work , including 2-3 years of experience working on real-world AI projects, and ideally hold a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence. - Hands-on experience with complex tasks, such as significantly restructuring data and making significant modifications to AI models. - A PhD or MS in an analytical field, such as computer science (CS), electrical engineering (EE), Statistics, Mathematics, or Physics, from a top 10 AI university. - Strong knowledge of Python and machine learning libraries, including scikit-learn, Pandas, TensorFlow, and PyTorch on complex industrial/commercial datasets. - Strong understanding of deep reinforcement learning (DRL). - Understanding building large-scale models with reinforcement learning, LSTMs, CNNs, GANs, and gradient boosting. - Experience deploying end-to-end ML models to production. - Knowledge of time-series data analysis. - Significant experience in time-series modeling. - An excellent problem solver who is both methodical and creative. You can learn any new technology, are not ashamed of admitting errors, love to take on new challenges, and are a great team player. - Efficient communicator with customers as well as across all levels of the organization. - Be comfortable with remote work and a distributed team. Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and optimize advanced machine learning models, including deep learning architectures, to solve complex business problems. - Conduct thorough data analysis and preprocessing to ensure high-quality inputs for model training. - Work closely with the team to align model development with business objectives. - Oversee the deployment of machine learning models into production environments. Nice to have - Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. - Familiarity with “Big Data” solutions such as Spark and Kafka. - Experience with cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
