The Trans Srvcs Analyst 2 is an intermediate level position responsible for providing analytic and administrative support to various securities related functions, in coordination with the Transaction Capture team. The overall objective of this role is to support traders, maintain position records, and improve process efficiency. Responsibilities: - Provide support to Treasury and Trade services, Securities, Cash, Trade, Lockbox, Derivatives, Fund Services, Foreign Exchange, etc. - Open and amend Letters of Credit (L/Cs), Guarantees, process payments and solve customer issues to ensure efficient daily operations - Examine Import and Export letters of credit for potential boycott issues, advises L/C - Support transactional processing for respective Letter of Credit products, review Letter of Credit documents to determine compliance with international, U.S. Latam and or Mexican regulations and standards - Review documents for internal consistency and compliance with governmental documentary regulations and import/export restrictions. - Provide checker role for transactional processing support for respective Letter of Credit Products. - Issue letters of credit to determine compliance with international standards and UCP600, ISP98 & ISBP - Identify and recommend process improvements and implement and validate those process improvements for respective products - Perform tasks within departmental procedures, controls and compliance standards in order to minimize losses to the Firm - Monitor, assess, analyze and or evaluate processes and data and make recommendations for improvement - Create customized reporting and participate in ad hoc projects as defined by supervisor - Apply a fundamental understanding of how the Transaction Services team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area - Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. - Maintain awareness of product, policy and system enhancements changes. - Participates in system and client testing, implementation and trainings if needed. - Provide creative solutions to reduce errors and to ensure adherence to audit and control policies. - Utilize technical knowledge to deliver quality service and achieve operating efficiency. - Daily Management of in process, pended, and service-related activities, ensuring the processing, dispatching, and delivery of very high-quality service to our customers and internal partners. - Perform within departmental procedures and compliance standards to minimize losses to the Firm. - Strong focus on control - Proactive problem solver - Quick learner; comfortable with and able to manage in complex systems environment and associated development process. - Flexible/sense of urgency. - Highly detailed planning, organization, and solid execution capability. Qualifications: - 3 to 5 years' experience in relevant field with at least 2-3 years on Trade Services Operations experience. - CDCS preferred. - Thorough understanding of the rules and regulations that apply to LC's -ISP98, UCP600, ISBP - Expert level proficiency in Windows, MS Project, and MS Office Suite - Demonstrated project management skills - Ability to work under pressure and manage to deadlines - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication - Attention to detail and intermediate problem solving skills - Highly detailed planning, organization, and solid execution capability - Strong focus on control with Analytical and organizational skills - Strong performance record, being a self-starter who solves issues as they may arise - Quick learner; comfortable with and able to manage in complex systems environment and associated development process. Education: - Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience - Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken./ Portuguese is a plus. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Issue, advise and confirm Documentary Letters of Credit and amendments (Imp, Exp, Stand by, & Guarantees) to original credit instruments, in-line with timeframe and accuracy expectations set forth by CTI Procedures, to ensure compliance with all applicable local and international regulations - Examine Import, Export, and Standby letters of credit for potential boycott issues, advises L/C - Support transactional processing for respective Letter of Credit products, review Letter of Credit documents to determine compliance with international, U.S. Latam and or Mexican regulations and standards - Review documents for internal consistency and compliance with governmental documentary regulations and import/export restrictions. - Validate individuals, companies, and countries involved in the Sanction Screening Process, and ensure no transaction parties are in conflict with U.S. and Mexico sanctions during the issuance, modification, negotiation and payment processes.
