Union Bid Period: 5/9/2025 - 5/15/2025 Job Description Nature and Level of Work: Perform work at an entry level in welding. Automatic promotion to Maintenance Mechanic III upon successful completion of written exam and skill assessment. Minimum time in position: 6 months; maximum: 18 months. Must meet requirements for advancement or revert to previous role. Key Responsibilities: Perform minor welding maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment Assist journey level mechanical trades employees as required Complete training and pass written exams for progression Perform other duties as assigned Shift 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Two years of maintenance experience or related vocational/military training Must pass a trade-related written test Automatic promotion to Maintenance Mechanic III upon successful completion of exams Progression to specialized technician roles after 18 months with training and assessment Physical ability to handle tools and equipment, climb ladders, and lift heavy objects Valid driver's license for operation of vehicles in Missouri Preferred Qualifications Valid driver's license for Missouri Anticipated Hiring Range Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 hourly Grade: GGS-E Title: Mechanical Maintenance Worker II Internal applicants should check myHR for their university title.
