The Activities Instructor is responsible for implementing and coordinating experiential and recreational activities for students, including indoor, outdoor, and off-site activities. The instructor will supervise student activities as required. Essential Job Duties: Teach and coach students in assigned activities. Maintain activity plans and coordinate all activities with the Program Manager/Director of Operations. Ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available and maintained. Evaluate students' knowledge and abilities through written and practical examinations, certifying students according to relevant guidelines. Keep records of students' progress in certification and curriculum-based classes. Maintain relevant industry certifications. Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications from recognized organizations. Administer first aid and CPR during emergencies following national standards. Attend and maintain crisis intervention and physical restraint training as required by state and contract standards. Prevent and intervene in student altercations using authorized methods. Ensure safety, supervision, advising, counseling, and role modeling for students. Adhere to all contract and state educational guidelines and quality improvement standards. Participate in day trips and special activities, including recreational sports, facility and equipment maintenance, and ground maintenance. Obtain and maintain Lifeguard and Challenge Course instructor certifications. Transport students and perform other work-related driving tasks. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent.
