What you will get Salary commensurate with experience, but above market norms. Pay may increase quickly if you’re a great fit for the firm and do an outstanding job. Compensation: $7,000,000 COP Responsibilities: - Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible - Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer - Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews - Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings - Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers - You’ll be intimately involved with developing asylum cases and handling various tasks, both substantive and administrative, throughout the representation. - You will assist clients in developing statements to be used in their case, advise regarding evidence to be gathered, and write portions of the legal brief we will submit. You will conduct research into country conditions information and work with attorneys in framing and preparing the case. - Contact with the clients, in English and Spanish, engaging them routinely and ensuring they have an excellent experience with the firm.
