Job Overview The Engineering and Construction Manager is a pivotal role that oversees the preparation of business cases, identifies project risks, and ensures adherence to development standards. Key Responsibilities - Technical Leadership: Technical lead for construction planning, budgeting, and scheduling. - Communication and Collaboration: Maintain clear communication with design and build partners, holding them accountable for compliance with scope and project requirements. - Project Planning and Execution: Lead preparation of RFP documents, selection of General Contractors/Design-Builders, and negotiation of contractual agreements. - Construction Management: Evaluate construction methods, determine cost-effectiveness, and track schedules and costs. - Crisis Management: Deal with delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites, resolve matters such as work procedures and complaints, and verify sub-contractor lien releases. Required Skills and Qualifications - Over 10 years' experience in building, refrigeration & equipment design & construction/implementation. - Proven track record of delivering new facilities in the food industry. - Tech skills in ammonia, freon, and C02 refrigeration systems, mechanical & electrical fields. - Ability to lead resource planning efforts in large, multi-facility environments. This role requires strong communication and presentation skills, ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels, and strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCad.
