Safety and Security Officer As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of all persons on Amtrak property. This includes passengers, employees, and property. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively deal with individuals under various circumstances to resolve disputes and neutralize hostilities. Additionally, they will maintain proficiency in safely operating police equipment, including vehicles, computers, and weapons. A valid California P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate is required upon appointment, along with a minimum of one-year experience as a full-time, sworn patrol officer with a California police or sheriff's department. The ability to pass all components of the police application process, including a physical agility test, an interview, a psychological examination, and an in-depth background investigation and a job-related physical examination, is also essential.
