To learn more about the Center, please go to www.reproductiverights.org The Role: Within the LAC Advocacy and External Relations area and reporting directly to the LAC Senior Communications Manager, the LAC Communications Digital Coordinator will coordinate digital communications activities to support advocacy, legal, thought leadership and capacity-building initiatives of the LAC Program. The Communications Digital Coordinator will closely work with LAC Program team, including Legal, Advocacy, Programs and Operations – among others; with the Center's Global Communication team based in New York, as well as with the other regional programs communications teams to develop, implement, and monitor digital media and digital content regarding the Center for Reproductive Rights' work in the LAC region. The Communications Digital Coordinator will also support the close work conducted with key partners across the region to create joint digital communications strategies in support of legal and advocacy initiatives. The role of LAC Communications Digital Coordinator is part of a broader programmatic strategy to position the Center for Reproductive Rights as a leading Human Rights organization in the region, using digital platforms and channels, with creative and engaging content. This is a 2-year, fixed-term position. This position will be based in the Center’s LAC Regional Office in Bogota D.C, Colombia . International travel is required. Primary Responsibilities: The LAC Communications Digital Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Identify opportunities to position the LAC Program in relevant digital channels and platforms with engaging and innovative institutional content, to expand the Center’s reach to new digital audiences in LAC and position the Center’s role in the region; · Design, develop and implement a digital communication strategy to position the Center’s regional and global work into current global trends and issues towards national, regional, and international audiences, under LAC Senior Communications Manager guidance. · Support the strategy to foster digital presence and public voice of LAC spokeswomen on the Center's institutional digital platforms and channels, including training in key digital communication skills. · Coordinate digital content creation for the LAC program , including proposal of engaging and current content, create drafts of digital contents (e.g., key messages, copy for social media, news articles, newsletters, email marketing materials, etc.) or create contents in-house, both in Spanish and English. Coordinate translation to other languages, i.e. Portuguese, when needed. · Plan, coordinate and follow-up digital communications profiling LAC Program projects and goals across the Center digital platforms and channels – in collaboration with Global Communications teams. · Coordinate and follow up LAC contributions to broader digital campaigns and digital efforts undertaken Globally and across regions. · Support, coordinate and follow-up with partners’ digital campaigns or activities that the LAC Program joins as part of networks and coalitions – as requested by LAC Senior Communications Manager. · Coordinate digital media and communications vendors and consultants to support the Center's communications efforts in LAC – in collaboration with Manager of Global Digital Strategies and Senior Press Officer, and others, as needed. · Support the implementation of LAC Program Annual Workplan and the definition of key specific objectives, specific work plans, specific timelines, and specific key deliverables for communications strategies and reporting on those regularly to LAC Senior Communications Manager. · Contribute to coordinate processes related to digital content creation or to implement digital communication strategies, as needed – with support from LAC Programs and Operations teams. Qualifications: · A Bachelor's or equivalent advanced degree in communications, journalism, public/media relations, or a related field. · 5 years of experience in traditional and/or online progressive media, journalism, non-profits organizations, communications and/or public relations. · Fluency in Spanish and English (oral, written, and reading comprehension) is required. · Awareness and understanding of the global media landscape and current developing strategies for communicating effectively in a continually and rapidly evolving media environment. · Good understanding of online tools and strategies to grow audiences and influencers, with experiencing managing social media accounts. · Proven knowledge in the use of design and video editing software. · Writing, editing, and proofreading skills. · Ability to create content for a variety of materials (e.g. news articles, newsletters, web content, advocacy resources, and email marketing materials, etc.) a plus. · Ability to research, write, fact-check, and edit a variety of communication pieces for target audiences with minimal supervision. · Ability to meet tight deadlines, handle simultaneous assignments, and work within a team setting across varied time zones. · Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to concurrently manage a large number and wide variety of projects with strict deadlines. · Experience working on human/women's rights, reproductive health, and/or social issues a plus. · Strong team-work abilities to integrate a diverse team. · Ability to travel within Latin America and abroad, as needed. Compensation: The Center offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Duration: This is a fixed-term, two-year position.
