Job Opportunity: Global Sourcing and Contracting Professional The Merck & Co. Inc., is seeking a skilled Global Sourcing and Contracting Professional to join the Business Operations organization of GSMG, a pivotal role in driving efficient sourcing practices through a comprehensive end-to-end sourcing process. As a member of the GSMG team, you will collaborate with key business stakeholders to gain a thorough understanding of goods or services requirements, identify and assess viable suppliers, conduct rigorous RFx evaluations, finalize supplier selections, and negotiate and formalize contracts. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with peers from other S&C; Hubs to ensure knowledge sharing and effective day-to-day operations. - Resolve issues and handle requests to ensure business stakeholder and category team satisfaction. - Understand category strategy roadmaps and requirements to design effective S&C; processes and train the organization to meet established service levels. - Identify opportunities for improvement of business stakeholder experience. - Demonstrate tactical and strategic thinking, as well as creative problem solving to position the Procurement organization as a tool for supporting the business. - Manage execution of projects with value up to $5 million. - Ensure end-to-end compliance contract management with 3rd parties, including drafting, negotiations, contract compliance, and execution. - Complete internal and external 3rd party risk assessments prior to contracting and maintain accurate records of risk assessment findings and risk mitigation strategies proposed. Requirements: - Minimum of 0 to 2 years of Sourcing and/or Contracting experience, internship fulfilled. - Strong business acumen and knowledge of business processes supported by transaction processing capabilities. - Fluency in English language plus one additional language preferred. - Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Skills and Qualifications: - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Apps (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Basic knowledge of SAP Ariba system. - Basic knowledge of compliant sourcing and contracting processes. - Strong customer service mindset. - Problem solving and analytical skills. - Willingness to challenge current thinking/processes. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills. Physical Position Requirements: - Ability to travel domestically and internationally for business meetings, workshops, and leadership meetings. - Travel expectations can be up to 10% of the time.
