As fintech continues to be a fast-growing customer segment for Mastercard, the Covec Cluster Team (Colombia, Venezuela; Ecuador, Suriname & Guyana) drives Mastercard’s position as a partner of choice for fintech companies and focuses on opportunities for growth within the segment, emphasizing how Mastercard enables the fintech segment overall. The Covec team also supports other teams in engaging with Fintech companies as customers and collaborators. As the fintech landscape evolves, this position in Colombia may also evolve, potentially including new responsibilities and priorities to align with the global fintech strategy and value propositions. We are seeking a Fintech & Enablers Director focused on the Covec region to work at the intersection of startups, partners, business lines, and key Mastercard clients, fostering collaboration, innovation, and value. Key Responsibilities Act as a liaison between local and regional teams to implement Mastercard’s strategy with the Fintech community, sharing best practices and building aligned execution plans. Source, evaluate, and collaborate with innovative Fintechs and Enablers in the Covec region, tailoring value propositions to specific needs. Work with digital partnership leads and regional fintech teams to identify and develop collaboration opportunities. Implement strategies to promote initiatives like Engage Fintech Express, leveraging partnerships and relationship management skills. Develop thought leadership and deploy value propositions aligned with regional priorities. Identify and qualify relevant Fintechs and Enablers, assessing strategic fit and developing business intelligence reports. Track performance metrics, manage the Engage Partners Pipeline, and report on engagement outcomes. Build trust with Mastercard customers to maximize engagement with startups and Enablers. Candidate Profile Passionate about startups and Fintech, with relevant experience. Quick learner of new technologies, demonstrating industry thought leadership. Results-oriented, solutions-focused, with strong business acumen and urgency. Multidisciplinary knowledge in product development, business development, marketing, and emerging tech. A proactive opportunity identifier with strategic development skills. Ability to evangelize new technologies and drive results with passion and ambition. Self-aware, open-minded, and comfortable challenging the status quo in a lean, agile environment. Experience in Retail Banking or Payment Industry is highly desirable. An MBA or related advanced degree is a plus. Fluent in English, both oral and written.
