Sagan represents a fast-growing East Coast-based service company that is transitioning from outsourced bookkeeping to in-house accounting. The business operates in a niche industry with a small, agile team and has recently launched a simple second venture. The company values clarity, accountability, and building structured financial processes as it scales. Position Overview:


The company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of all day-to-day bookkeeping tasks. This is a foundational hire with potential to grow into a more strategic accounting role over time. You'll start by replacing outsourced bookkeeping services and have the opportunity to influence how financial operations evolve as the company expands. Key Responsibilities:





Manage all bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks. Reconcile accounts, monitor cash flow, and handle monthly closing. Manage accounts payable and receivable. Oversee bill pay systems (e.g., Ramp, Bill.com). Assist with financial reporting and data entry for both the main business and a small secondary venture. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Collaborate with leadership to develop and refine financial processes. Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting. Strong proficiency in QuickBooks. Experience with bill pay platforms such as Ramp or Bill.com. High proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets. Strong English communication skills (spoken and written). Comfortable working independently and managing shifting priorities. Nice-to-Haves:
Experience supporting US-based businesses. Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Spanish language skills for occasional team communication. Prior experience working with startups or small companies in a scaling phase. Familiarity with towing/logistics industry systems (e.g., Shop Monkey, Book) is a plus but not required.
