Backend Leader Role We are seeking an experienced Backend Leader to join our team. Job Description: As a Backend Leader, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, global, secure platforms. You will supervise a hybrid global team and choose the technical stack that best suits our needs. Your key responsibilities will include managing technical debt prevention, building core APIs, data models, and cloud architecture. Technical Requirements: - Backend Architecture Expertise: You must have in-depth knowledge of backend architecture principles and design patterns. - API Development Expertise: Experience with REST, WebSocket, and real-time API development is essential. - Database Expertise: Strong understanding of Postgres, SQL, NoSQL, and scalability is required. - Cloud Experience: You should have experience working with AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Security Expertise: Knowledge of data privacy, GDPR, end-to-end encryption is crucial. - Scalable SaaS System Design: Proven experience in designing scalable SaaS systems is necessary. - Team Leadership: Strong leadership skills, especially when working with remote global teams. - Fullstack Familiarity: Good understanding of full-stack development, but hands-on expertise in backend development is preferred. - Video Platform Architecture: Experience in designing video platform architecture is highly valued. - AI/ML Expertise (optional): Knowledge of AI/ML is a bonus but not required. Experience Profile: - Years of Experience: 10+ years of total experience is required. - Past Leadership Roles: 4+ years of leading backend teams is necessary. - Startups or SaaS Experience: Strong preference for experience in startups or SaaS companies. - Managed Offshore Teams: Ideally, you should have experience managing offshore teams. - Full System Build Experience: Mandatory experience in building full systems, not just feature work. - Communication: Fluent English communication skills are required for global team management. Soft Skills: - Clear Thinker: Ability to understand trade-offs and not be perfectionistic. - Design for MVP, Plan for Scalability: Able to design now for MVP but plan for scalability. - Comfortable Working with Founders: Comfortable working directly with founders. - No Ego: Open to hybrid global teams with no ego issues. - Excellent Communicator: Excellent communication skills are essential. -
