About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated Founding Software Engineer committed to reshaping how patients interact with medications through generative AI and cutting-edge technologies. In this foundational role, you will work closely with the company’s founders and early team members across all aspects of product and engineering. Key Responsibilities - Lead the development and evolution of our AI platform by enhancing current features and building new capabilities. - Design and implement large language models (LLMs), custom agent behaviors, and system integrations tailored to pharmacy use cases using prompt engineering and advanced tooling. - Scale internal infrastructure for performance, reliability, and secure client integration, both on-premises and in the cloud. - Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable deployments. - Identify bottlenecks, handle edge cases, and proactively ensure system stability. - Write clean, testable code and simulate complex scenarios to validate functionality. - Ensure systems comply with HIPAA and other data security standards. - Participate in product strategy and roadmap discussions based on customer feedback and team collaboration. - Remain hands-on and detail-oriented in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. About You - At least 2 years of full-time software engineering experience (excluding internships). - Experience in early-stage startups is preferred. - Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines. - Strong backend development skills using Python; experience with APIs and cloud deployment on AWS. - Proactive, accountable, and eager to contribute beyond your defined role. - Strong communication skills: clear writing, active listening, and openness to feedback. - Experience building and shipping features frequently, with a continuous improvement mindset. - Practical experience with generative AI, prompt engineering, or voice AI systems in personal or production projects. - Bonus: experience in healthtech, pharmacy tech, or as a founder or early-stage technical team member.
