The HR Specialist is a key member of Blackboard’s HR Shared Services Team, supporting the organization’s broader Global HR Consulting & Delivery function. The HR Shared Services Team provides backend support to Blackboard’s HR Business Partners as well as the overall HR function and is the first point of contact for employees with HR-related questions. Primary responsibilities will include: - Serving as a primary HR contact and resource for Blackboard’s global workforce throughout the entire employment lifecycle, to include answering questions regarding HR programs, policies, and procedures, etc. - Providing guidance to the HRBPs and HR Consultants to ensure compliance and consistency with regards to internal HR processes - Developing and implementing process improvements for internal HR processes and owning standard operation procedure documents for the HR Shared Services Team - Managing the HR helpdesk to include monitoring and responding to inquiries from employees in a timely manner, with quality responses, providing excellent service to our internal clients - Owning onboarding activities for our global corporate new hires to include drafting employment contracts, reviewing background checks, coordinating orientation/additional onboarding activities, etc. and collaborating with the HR team to regularly update and improve the onboarding materials and processes - Processing employment changes for staff in the HR system via MSS transactions, such as terminations, transfers, promotions, etc. and ensuring we have the appropriate supporting documentation in place - Processing and maintaining work authorization documentation and employee files by collaborating with employees, managers, and various HR team members - Managing the employee exit and checkout process and procedures, including communication, reporting, and compliance with local payroll deadlines - Gathering and analyzing onboarding and exit data to identify trends and areas for improvement - Partnering with outside counsel to prepare routine immigration documentation and handling necessary follow-up with employees - Staying current with changes in employment law and emerging trends; ensuring compliance with any legal or regulatory requirements - Serving as an administrative resource for the HR Consulting & Delivery Team providing ad hoc reporting, information tracking, and HR program management - Providing ad hoc support of HR programs that are specific to the Bogota office - Required skills/qualifications:_ - At least 2 years of prior relevant experience - University degree in Human Resources, or a business-related field and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience - Strong oral and written communications skills - Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above - Basic knowledge of HR/personnel practices and principles, and global labor, pay, benefits, health and safety laws and regulations - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Proactive and pays strong attention to detail - Desire to collaborate with team members across several organizations, ask questions, and research to understand how to best respond to internal clients - Proven ability to modify and adjust individual approach and delivery to fit specific situations - Experience working with diverse populations - Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, and multi-task in a highly dynamic environment - Ability to handle a high level of confidentiality regarding employee information - Ability to be agile and navigate change Strong consulting skills - Preferred skills/qualifications:_ - Prior experience working in a global organization on a geographically dispersed team - Experience assisting with immigration cases - Experience utilizing a HRIS - Experience onboarding and offboarding employees **The Office**: We have an office located in Bogota, Colombia as a hub for the LAC market. - Located in Capital Towers center in the financial district - Excellent and secure area to eat lunch, have a walk, or dine after office hours - Benefits in prepaid medicine, dental plan, and wellness allowance - Easy access to public transportation close to two important avenues, Carrera 7 and Calle 100 - Free parking for employees and paid parking for visitors - Multi
