Title and Summary Manager, Accounting - Overview: The position will be part of the Controller’s group within MasterCard LAC’s Finance division, reporting to the LAC Regional Director Controller. The LAC Controllers Group is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the US GAAP financials in partnership with the GBSC (Global Business Service Center), ensuring local statutory reporting compliance, and providing support to the business teams across various areas including accounting and internal controls. The role will oversee regional rebates, incentives, pricing, and billing operations in partnership with the GBSC. Additional responsibilities include supporting the LAC Region’s accounting and reporting in accordance with Corporate policies, US GAAP, and SEC requirements. Role: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financials for the supported Region/BU, with primary responsibility for compliance with external and Corporate accounting standards, including US GAAP and local statutory requirements. Guide financial decisions related to business transactions, including acquisitions and investments, by providing accounting/regulatory advice and establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Provide accounting guidance for deal structures, intercompany arrangements, and business ventures. Prepare technical accounting memorandums on complex issues and consult with Corporate Accounting as needed. Support the Corporate Controller’s ORM initiative by leading assessments and partnering on risk and control evaluations outside accounting and financial reporting. Ensure ongoing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including filing financial reports and advising management on necessary actions. Manage statutory reporting, providing support and ensuring effective teamwork. Oversee teams responsible for rebates, incentives, billing, and pricing processes. Provide oversight on the Region’s bank administration in line with Corporate Treasury policies. All About You: Extensive experience (12+ years) in accounting controls and financial processes within a global organization or Big 4 Firm, with a preference for a mix of industry and Big 4 experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus. Active CPA or Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including US and/or IFRS standards. Knowledge of Internal Controls and Sarbanes Oxley regulations. Proficiency with accounting and finance systems/software. Proven ability to drive process improvements. Strong business acumen and solutions-oriented approach. Excellent project management, analytical, and financial skills. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation abilities. Leadership qualities with relationship development skills.
