Join our client's team as a **Network Engineer - GNOC** and play a vital role in executing advanced technical tasks. As an internal escalation point in the GNOC, you'll ensure fulfilling contractual obligations and SLAs, sustaining the continuous operation of crucial data networks. This includes handling complex situations, collaborating with on-site technicians, and providing precise guidance. This role requires adept problem-solving and proactive approaches to overcome challenges. - Here’s an overview of your future role:_ Employment type: Indefinite term type contract Shift: Day Shift (Monday to Friday 8AM to 5PM ET) Work setup: Remote / Work from Home **What do you need to succeed?** - English level: C1 - Experience: A minimum of seven years of experience in supporting and monitoring network systems and servers within an enterprise environment. - Previous experience in configuring and troubleshooting networks and hardware. - Previous experience in leading and mentoring a team. - Previous experience in key network monitoring protocols, including SNMP, IPMI, and syslog. - Previous experience and knowledge of routing and switching technologies, including TCP/IP, STP, VLAN, VRRP, CDP, and LLDP. - Strong technical background in troubleshooting at least three of the following major hardware manufacturers, with a broad technical understanding of the others: - Cisco Meraki - Cisco traditional - HP/Aruba - CommScope/Ruckus - Extreme - Ubiquiti - Demonstrate experience in configuring and troubleshooting layered services, such as: - IPTV - Casting - Phone systems - Building Management Systems - Proficiency in core Linux fundamentals. - Advanced problem-solving skills. - Ability to manage numerous demands from both external and internal clients. - Capability to resolve issues after hours, sometimes at short notice. - Previous experience in using the Microsoft Suite of products. - Strong time management and prioritization skills. - Excellent written and verbal English skills. - Self-starter with the ability to work without supervision Tech Stack: - Cisco Meraki - Cisco traditional - HP/Aruba - CommScope/Ruckus - Extreme - Ubiquiti - Switching technologies - Linux - Microsoft Suite **What awaits you in this role?** Daily Tasks - Operations: - Review tickets assigned to team members to ensure their qualifications align with the ticket requirements. - Stay informed about the team's current workload and re-prioritize tickets based on AT priority, due dates, and customer needs. - Serve as the point of escalation for GNOC Network Engineers. - Plan, prioritize, and complete any scheduled work in your time zone. - Lead various initiatives and client projects. - Client Management: - Monitor electronic communication and respond professionally and promptly to meet client requirements. - Provide timely and proactive updates to customers regarding open items. - Team Dynamic: - Conduct informal check-ins with direct team members. - Ensure accurate time recording in Autotask and categorize appropriately. - Weekly Tasks - Operations: - Review open tickets, ensure action is being taken, and communicate updates to customers. - Annual Tasks: - Provide feedback on network engineer performance for service delivery manager's reviews. - Participate actively in remuneration and KPI reviews, aligning with strategic growth plans. - Ad-hoc Tasks - Operations: - Practice active listening with team members, clients, and suppliers to refine products and services. - Assume responsibility for tasks of vacant direct team positions until replacements are found. - Client Management: - Attend relevant formal and informal client and supplier meetings. - Team Dynamic: - Lead the selection process and onboard new direct reports, including daily check-ins for at least the first month
