Company Description Location: Bogota, Colombia or SaoPaulo, Brazil Start Date: June/July 2024 The Global OpportunityYouth Network (GOYN) is a multi-stakeholder initiative hosted atthe Aspen Institute’s Forum for Community Solutions and managed inpartnership with Global Development Incubator (GDI). GOYN iscommitted to catalyzing place-based systems shifts in communities —cities and rural districts — around the world through the creationof sustainable economic opportunities for “Opportunity Youth,” (OY)aged 15-29 who are out of school, unemployed or underemployed. Created in 2018, GOYN’s current network comprises fourteencommunities in India, Africa and Latin America (Bogota and Barranquilla, Colombia; Mexico City, Mexico; Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), which together represent over four million suchyoung people. Over the next decade, GOYN aims to improve the livesof millions of young people, build community-based Collaborativesthat coordinate work to improve the youth employment ecosystem, andcatalyze systemic shifts to accelerate youth participation,opportunity, and equity, thereby ultimately contributing to morepeaceful and vibrant communities. GOYN engages multiple partnersand stakeholders across communities, from young people and localNGOs to employers, funders, and consultants. At the global level,GOYN is supported by a group of technical and funding partners,including Aspen Institute, Global Development Incubator, Accenture,Prudential Financial Inc., and Catholic Relief Services as well asa number of other philanthropic partners. At the local level, GOYNactivities are led by a local organization (“Anchor Partner”) whichis in charge of convening and coordinating youth employmentstakeholders in the community. Job Description GOYN is looking fora Bogota-based or Sao Paulo-based Regional Lead to support itsgrowing network of communities in Latin America. Relationshipmanagement with a GOYN community is key to ensure the community issuccessfully onboarded into the GOYN network and is provided withongoing, long-term support until they have the capacity to functionwithout intensive support from the GOYN Global Team. The LatinAmerica Regional Lead will be part of the GOYN Global Team andprovide essential support to GOYN’s Latin American communities in Colombia, Mexico and Brazil. GOYN Regional Leads have five keyareas of responsibility: 1. Be the primary point of contact for the Anchor Partner (AP) within GOYN - Be the first point of call for APcommunications with the GOYN Global Team - Arrange regular meetingswith AP, creating a space where they can ask questions, sound outideas, voice challenges - Orient AP to the GOYN network, connectingthem as appropriate with other Global Team members and AnchorPartners - Help AP develop a cadence to work with GOYN globalpartners 2. Ensure alignment with GOYN approach and values -Provide guidance to AP on the key principles of the GOYN approach(scaled impact, systems change, ecosystem collaboration,data-driven, inclusive co-design, equity) - Ensure Anchor Partnermeets GOYN quality standards, providing support as appropriate 3. Identify cross-cutting themes & share learnings - Proactivelyidentify cross-cutting GOYN themes relevant to AP and sharelearnings from other GOYN communities in these areas - Connect APto relevant GOYN Communities of Practice - Share insights, tools,templates and other resources from other GOYN communities -Facilitate and participate in calls with other communities forcross-network learning 4. Support GOYN Design & Implementationactivities, including: - Ecosystem mapping (data collection &analysis; underpinning GOYN’s strategy for the community) -Collaborative-building (stakeholder engagement and coordination,setup of advisory groups and technical working groups) - Strategydevelopment, including Theory of Change and identification ofpriority intervention areas - Implementation activities, such asintervention design and development of partnerships with otherstakeholders - Monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL)activities, including development of community-level MEL frameworkand Theory of Change, impact tracking and reporting - Fundraisingactivities, including identification of and engagement with localand global funding partners and proposal writing 5. Participate inGOYN Global Team activities - Participate in regular calls,meetings and events with the GOYN Global Team - Share regularupdates from the community with the GOYN Global Team - Supportglobal fundraising and reporting efforts (proposal development,funders’ report) - Support Global Learning Agenda by proactivelysuggesting new learning themes, contributing to GOYN toolkit,sharing learnings from the community, developing case studies andraising questions/issues Note: this role will involve significantexternal consultations with global stakeholders and will require awork schedule that can periodically accommodate calls slightlyearlier or later than usual work hours, despite their time zone. Qualifications - A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master’s preferred. - 5–8 years of relevant work experience. Professional experience in management/strategy consulting highlydesired. - Professional proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese and English, with native fluency in either Spanish or Portuguese. -Demonstrated experience managing relationships with seniorstakeholders from the public, private and nonprofit sectors. -Experience with impact monitoring and evaluation, fundraising andpartnership development highly desired. - Familiarity with youthand/or employment issues in an international context highlydesired. - Experience working with nonprofits and impact-drivenorganizations. - Outstanding analytical skills, with demonstratedability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data and evidence. - Excellent PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills. - Excellentlistening skills; effective influencer; strong interpersonalskills. - Collaborative team contributor. - Exceptional verbal andwritten communication skills; good attention to detail. - Abilityto self-manage work streams and tasks; self-directed andresourceful with high standards for quality output. - A curious andcreative intellect and a style that includes flexibility,levelness, and a sense of humor and humility. The successfulcandidate will be based out of Bogota, Colombia or Sao Paulo,Brazil. This is a work-from-home position, with an expectation offrequent visits to the local GOYN Anchor Partner in either Bogotaor Sao Paulo, minimum quarterly travel to other GOYN communities in Latin America and occasional travel to other GOYN locations (twicea year).
