Job Summary We're seeking a Senior BI Engineer II with strong technical skills and business acumen to join our Data & AI team in Bogotá. As an individual contributor, you'll be responsible for transforming data into insights and building intuitive, scalable business intelligence solutions. Candidates from technical (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or business/analytics backgrounds are welcome—as long as you have hands-on expertise in BI development, data modeling, and stakeholder engagement. You'll collaborate across teams to deliver high-impact dashboards, automate reporting workflows, and support embedded analytics using tools like Power BI, Qlik Sense, and Looker. Key Responsibilities: - Data Modeling & Transformation - Design and implement efficient, reusable data models (e.g., star/snowflake schemas) for reporting and analytics. - Partner with Data Engineers to validate and transform data to support BI use cases. - Dashboard Development & Standardization - Develop user-friendly, performant dashboards and reports using Power BI, Qlik Sense, and Looker. - Apply UI/UX best practices to ensure a consistent and high-quality reporting experience. - Embedded & Automated Reporting - Build embedded analytics solutions for internal/external applications (e.g., intranets, portals). - Set up and manage scheduled, email-based reporting distributions for business stakeholders. - Ensure proper security and access control in both embedded and automated delivery formats. - Insight Generation & Business Partnering - Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs, interpret data needs, and deliver actionable insights. - Translate complex data outputs into intuitive narratives and business-friendly visualizations. - Scripting & Technical Implementation - Write optimized SQL queries for data extraction and transformation. - Use Python for light automation, data prep, or statistical insights as needed. - Leverage HTML/CSS/JavaScript to customize embedded analytics features when necessary. - Use Excel for quick-turnaround and ad hoc analyses. - Documentation & Collaboration - Maintain clear documentation of KPIs, report logic, and data model design. - Work closely with cross-functional teams—product, engineering, finance, operations—to deliver BI solutions aligned with organizational goals. Required Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. - 4+ years of professional experience in BI development, data analytics, or a related technical role. - Expertise in Power BI, Qlik Sense, and/or Looker. - Strong SQL skills and familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling. - Experience with Python scripting for data processing or automation. - Proficiency in Advanced Excel, with familiarity in HTML/CSS/JavaScript for customization. - Demonstrated ability to partner with business teams to define KPIs, metrics, and actionable reports. - Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Exposure to Git-based development and Agile workflows. - Familiarity with embedding dashboards via SDKs or REST APIs.
