Clyde & Co seeks a highly motivated and bright attorney with ideally 6+ years of experience in insurance coverage litigation . We are looking for an excellent writer who is highly motivated and proactive with their caseload—someone who will be able to act independently and comfortable taking on a leadership role with their cases, with experience and an interest in working on complex insurance coverage litigation matters. Our hiring practice group represents international and domestic insurers in complex insurance coverage litigation matters with regards to all manner of liability policies, including commercial general liability, and focuses on insurance for industries that drive Southern California's industries: construction, energy, entertainment and maritime. The attorney will be ideally located in Los Angeles, CA but we are also open to other locations in California for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Analyze insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions and providing coverage advice and recommendations to clients; Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis, and draft memoranda; Draft and review pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery, motions with supporting briefs and other legal correspondence; Prepare formal correspondence to opposing counsel and other parties; Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required. Excellent academic credentials; Admitted to practice in California; Admitted to other states (particularly TX, NY, WA, or CO) is an asset; Ideally 6+ years of experience in complex insurance coverage litigation matters; Experience in commercial general liability; Excellent legal research, writing and verbal communication skills; Strong organizational and time management skills; Ability to handle matters of a highly sensitive nature; Ability to handle time sensitive matters, sometimes several simultaneously; Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects; Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly. The salary range for this position is $200,000-$210,000. The range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
