The United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) is a leading organisation in eliminating the threat posed by mines, explosive remnants of war and improvised explosive devices. Our mission is to coordinate UN mine action, lead operational responses at the country level, and develop standards, policies and norms. Our Programme Management Associate will support UNMAS in various capacities, including drafting programme/project reports, budgets, proposals and extension requests for donors. They will also contribute to monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, including data management and activity reporting. We are seeking an individual with a Master's degree in business administration, management, international relations, public administration, development cooperation or a related field. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated interest and/or experience in gender, peace, peacebuilding, protection, security, transitional justice and reconciliation. They should be able to work effectively in a multicultural setting and possess strong organisational skills. The successful candidate will have excellent command of English and a working knowledge of Spanish. They will also be proficient in all phases of the project management cycle and have expertise in planning and organisational skills. This position is part of the Talent programme 'Swiss Youth at the United Nations / World Bank Group'. It is sponsored by the Peace and Human Rights Division (PHRD) and offers an International UN Youth Volunteer contract, which includes travel, relocation and UN health insurance costs. A monthly living allowance is also provided. Selected candidates will undergo mandatory pre-departure training and be expected to depart after the training.
