We are looking for a high-performing Associate to join our team, who can assist in keeping up with the demands of a growing global HR/tech company. In this role you will be a member of the Growth & Governance team, providing contract review and management support. You will become an expert in Oyster's Contract Management Platform, uploading and managing contracts in the system, establishing best practices and ensuring that the tool is working for the needs of the Legal team. You will also work cross-functionally on projects to help Oyster reach its goals. Being a fully distributed company, the Contract Associate will work synchronously and asynchronously with team members all over the world. We are looking for someone with wonderful attention to detail, strong multi-task skills, high energy, a positive attitude, and no camera shyness. **What you'll do**: Reporting to the Lead Counsel, the Conract Associate will assist with the review and management of vendor contracts and other third-party paper. This role will initially focus on tasks related to contract management, but will have the opportunity to expand to other projects within the Growth & Governance Team, and the Legal team as a whole. - Triage and assignment of vendor contracts and other third-party paper for legal review - Working with the Contract Management Platform to design prompts for entering relevant metadata into the system - Maintaining and monitoring contracts and contract-related workflows to ensure timely progression - Assisting in other company-wide projects and initiatives to optimize the Oyster customer and team member experience - Work closely with other Legal colleagues and business stakeholders to ensure all changes are communicated appropriately and on a timely basis - Maintain a working knowledge of Operations at Oyster, Legal-led activities at Oyster, and company-wide Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) - Identifying opportunities to improve processes, share best practices, and improve efficiency within the Legal department's organizational structure, systems, and technologies - Working cross-functionally to fulfill Oyster's Mission and Vision - Build and maintain strong relationships within the Legal department and with cross-functional departments - Other duties as assigned **What we're looking for**: - 1+ years of work experience in contract or document management. - Experience with a Contract Lifecycle Management system (e.g., Ironclad, SAP CLM, Apttus, Conga, or similar - Electronic signature software experience preferred (e.g., HelloSign, DocuSign) - Organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-output environment - Proactive and uses independent judgement - Demonstrates enthusiasm for solving problems and adding value to the company - Be competent.
