Nature-based Solutions Investments - Associate Term: Full-time Location: Position Responsibilities The NBS Portfolio Manager will support the analysis of bankability of NbS Projects and Programs in developing countries, contribute to the Investment Readiness process, and support the management of a portfolio of NbS Projects. Support the Development Bankability of NbS Projects Evaluate projects screened by the sourcing team and develop carbon eligibility assessments, including: Evaluate and document local laws and land tenure Collect, analyze, and validate data required to build detailed project budgets Prepare investment models and analyze financial returns Develop institutional arrangements for investment Evaluate risks of VERRs reversals Work with target investees to provide climate finance training and incorporate their inputs into the process Act as project manager, collaborating with technical team project managers, to deliver Carbon Eligibility Assessments Support Building Investment Readiness Assist investees in building Investment Readiness, including policies, procedures, benefits allocation, community engagement, feedback, and grievance redress Contribute to investment due diligence Support the preparation of investment memos for the Investment Committee Assist in preparing proposals for non-investment funds to enhance bankability Post-Investment Support the portfolio manager in overseeing active investments Assist in delivering business training and monitoring support to build capacity of investee groups Support monitoring and delivery of business plans by investees Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual project activity, financial, and ESG reports Essential Skills and Qualifications This remote position is suitable for an Associate with 2-5 years of relevant experience. Require Skills and Experience Experience in designing, developing, and implementing nature-based projects in developing countries Fluent in Spanish Experience in building NbS project implementation budgets Proficient in assessing financial viability and business models of NbS projects Experience managing investments or credit lines for NbS, agriculture, or forestry projects Knowledge of NbS emission reduction market standards and processes for generating verified emission reductions Experience managing projects with diverse partners to achieve financial, social, and environmental returns Experience in performance monitoring and proposal development for additional funding Alignment with Terra’s mission and team culture Strong communication skills in English and Spanish or French A self-starter capable of working independently and in remote, multidisciplinary teams Compensation ranges from USD $50,000 to $75,000, depending on experience and location.
