Over the past 20+ years, ICC has developed the Al Capone brand to become the best selling Hand Rolled, Premium Cigarillo in the USA’s OTP (Other Tobacco Products) category. The product currently enjoys a loyal consumer base and distribution across major regional markets in specialty and mass market retail channels. Position: Sales Area Manager The Sales Area Manager is responsible for developing and extending sales in their area according to the company strategy and corporate policies. They are accountable for the budget and achieving sales targets. Candidates must reside in or near Columbia, SC, and be familiar with regions within the state. Performance Measurements Meet sales, merchandising, and administrative objectives in the assigned area. Increase distribution, Point of Sale visibility, and open new retail accounts. Responsibilities Conduct retail calls in the assigned area. Overcome objections and perform call checks. Monitor and track results, identify risks, propose corrective actions, and capitalize on opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with top distributors within the region. Manage operating expenses, trade shows, display budgets, and report weekly to the Divisional Sales Manager. Observe and communicate market conditions, including regulations, competition, and distributor performance. Act as a conduit for programs and information at retail outlets. Ensure completion of all required activities and perform special projects as assigned. Requirements and Characteristics Extensive sales skills and 2-5 years of tobacco sales experience in the US CPG industry (preferably tobacco). Experience in large multinational and smaller, family-managed companies. Successful development and extension of sales in the FMCG sector within independent retail channels. Deep knowledge of sales strategies and new product launches in retail trade. Proven success in business growth and distributor/wholesale experience. Passion, consumer focus, strong business acumen, independence, honesty, and a fun attitude. Hardworking, quality-driven, goal-oriented, leadership skills, and willingness to travel regionally with overnight stays. Compensation and Benefits Base salary: $60,000 plus quarterly bonus (first 12 months guaranteed $16k bonus). Total compensation varies based on experience, location, and performance.
