The Engineering Manageris primarily responsible for the delivery and quality of servicesin their product team, as well as the culture and morale of theteam. The Engineering Manager also participates on a limited basisin engineering wide improvement activities related to processes,innovation, and ways of working. The impact of this role is that ateam is regularly delivering new high quality services in a timelymanner, and that any previously delivered or existing service ismonitored and maintained. In addition, the team members are fullyinformed about information relevant to them and given clearexpectations, clear justifications, and receive followup on theimpact of their services. The Engineering Manager provides guidanceto direct reports on how to manage their work, while alsomonitoring and addressing any people management concerns for directreports, including low performers, high performers, personaldevelopment, engagement and job satisfaction, morale and culture,formal performance reviews and any others. Ultimately theEngineering Manager is there to own all aspects of their team. WhatYou'll Do: - Leads effective delivery of sprint and quarterly goals - Creates clarity for the team (sprint, team, career goals) -Solves almost all problems within the team - Communicates problemsproactively with proposed solutions - Proactive in identifying andclearing bottlenecks & roadblocks for the team - Learn and helpthe team to learn from failures (not delivering or not meetingquality standards) - Lead in resolving any production incidents forservices owned by the team - Monitor that all agreed engineeringbest practices and defined processes are followed - Facilitate theimprovement of the delivery process - Listen to feedback from theteam - Listen to feedback from PO, SEM, and Head of Delivery -Provide feedback to PO, SEM, and Head of Delivery aboutinefficiencies in the current process - Make sure that improvementideas are either implemented or follow-up why the idea did not panout - Helps PO to succeed in creating specs and scoping of features - Gives feedback to specs early and often - Drive scoping ofsprints with the team using the input from Product Owner - Help POsbreak down large deliverables into more manageable butindependently valuable chunks - Promote and enable tackling oftechnical debt and technical roadmap items - Drive and monitortechnical excellence within the team - Understand (and to someextent cater to) the personal needs of each team member - Managemorale and motivation within the team - Lead recruiting efforts andmake headcount recommendations for their team What You'll Bring: -3+ years working in a software delivery environment in a seniordevelopment or managerial capacity - Demonstrated track record ofapplying software engineering practices and the softwaredevelopment life cycle to deliver features - Demonstrated trackrecord in the use of Jira and Confluence to manage softwaredelivery to successfully deliver features - Capable ofparticipating and contributing in high level technical discussions - Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving complex problems -Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure in afast-paced environment showing flexibility and adaptability indynamic circumstances - History of skillfully prioritizing andeffectively managing multiple tasks and projects - Experience inreviewing business requirements and translating into delivery plans - Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written,including the ability to present technical information tonon-technical stakeholders, facilitate team or other defined scopemeetings, listening and interpersonal skills with a commitment tocontinuous self-development, positive mindset) - Proven history ofmentoring and coaching team members to improve performance -Comfortable managing team members with different skill sets fromtheir own What Makes Us Great: - Work-life balance initiatives -Autonomy – we embrace personal freedom and responsibility -Creativity – we are open to new ideas of how we can be better -Growth – we want you to develop personally as well asprofessionally - Top-notch professionals who are passionate aboutwhat they do - People-oriented environment and supportiveatmosphere As a rapidly growing company in an emerging industry,you’ll have a huge impact on our product and our company.
