Job Overview Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Residency Program Faculty Physician will provide teaching, precepting, and administrative support for the Family Practice Residency program. Responsibilities include curriculum development, clinical supervision, program evaluation, and participation in program committees. Key Responsibilities Accurately complete all documentation in accordance with department standards and electronic medical record requirements. Support the residency program through curriculum design, clinical supervision, and program development; participate in evaluation committees and serve on program committees as assigned. Provide direct patient care in the Residency clinic. Precept and evaluate resident performance. Teach residents via lectures, seminars, conferences, and clinical care. Balance time between educational, administrative, and clinical duties. Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement activities, and peer review. Serve as a role model, mentor, and advisor to residents, maintaining professional and ethical standards. Assist in resident recruitment, orientation, and evaluation. Support the implementation of policies and ACGME Milestones in evaluations. Engage in scholarly activities, preferably with residents. Participate in faculty development and serve as course director if needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 3+ years postgraduate experience recommended. Ability to travel within San Diego County; valid Class C driver’s license, insurance, and clean driving record required. Board certification required. Current BLS or ACLS certification. DEA license. Graduation from an accredited medical school; unrestricted California medical license. Skills and Experience Effective communication with diverse populations; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Computer literacy, especially electronic medical records. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate. Knowledge of medical history-taking, education techniques, and community medicine. Interest in broad patient care and resident education. Physical and Working Environment Includes frequent sitting, walking, fine manipulation, and occasional lifting and reaching. Exposure to aerosol-transmitted diseases and biohazards; use of PPE required. Work involves office and clinical environments, serving patients of all ages. Compensation Base salary range: $120.19 - $132.21/hour. Final salary depends on experience, skills, and other factors. Benefits include a comprehensive package.
