As a Remote Over-the-Phone Interpreter (OPI), you bridge communication gaps between individuals who speak different languages using phone or audio technology. You work remotely, connecting people who aren't in the same location. Your role is crucial in various sectors, from healthcare and government to customer service, where clear and immediate communication is essential. You facilitate understanding in real-time, ensuring that language is not a barrier to accessing vital services or information. This work demands exceptional linguistic skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality. You are the invisible link that makes cross-cultural communication possible. Job Responsibilities: Professionally conduct interpreting sessions and adhere to the Interpreter's code of conduct. Take detailed notes during calls and maintain awareness of industry-specific vocabulary, particularly in the healthcare and medical sectors. Provide accurate interpretations without adding, omitting, or substituting information. Deliver exceptional customer service and facilitate communication. Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications. Requirements: Fluency in English and Spanish (bilingual/Native/professional) Customer service experience is recommended (no interpreting experience needed) Familiarity with legal and medical terminology is advantageous. High school diploma in the Spanish language. Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills. Technical Specifications: As this position is fully remote, you should comply with several technical requirements for your computer. We need to ensure that your home office will work effectively. Computer or laptop should be Windows 10 or newer, with Pentium or I3 processor. Minimum: Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz / Recommended: i5 / i7 2.4 GHz and above. Linux systems must be running Kernel version 5.18 or later. Mac systems are not allowed. Working machine should have 8 GB RAM Minimum. We require an excellent ethernet connection (Wi-Fi and Satellite Internet connection are not allowed) Internet speed of 4Mbps Download/Upload.
