Role Overview: Zapp is looking for a Business Development Lead to spearhead strategic partnerships that drive our growth and amplify our value in the global remittance ecosystem. You’ll own the full lifecycle of partnership development—from sourcing and evaluation to deal execution and long-term relationship management. Your focus will be on forming impactful relationships with money transfer operators, payout networks, stablecoin on/offramps, and fintech enablers. This role is key to unlocking new markets, capabilities, and efficiencies—ensuring that Zapp continues to offer simple, fast, and secure remittance solutions to migrant communities. You’ll not only close deals—you’ll grow and manage these partnerships over time, ensuring sustained performance and deep strategic alignment. Key Responsibilities: Identify and Source Strategic Partners: Proactively identify high-potential partners aligned with Zapp’s mission—including MTOs, digital payers, banks, crypto infrastructure providers, and fintech platforms, among others. Evaluate Opportunities: Conduct financial and strategic analysis to assess impact on growth, unit economics, and user experience. Prioritize partnerships based on product efficiencies, regulatory viability, and customer value. Lead Negotiations: Drive structuring and negotiation of deals end-to-end, collaborating closely with legal, compliance, finance, and leadership. Develop and Manage Relationships: Build strong relationships with key decision-makers at partner organizations. Own the relationship post-launch, acting as a trusted point of contact to optimize, expand, and troubleshoot as needed. Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with product, engineering, compliance, and operations to ensure seamless implementation and scalable growth. Performance Monitoring: Track key metrics for each partnership (e.g., volumes, revenue contribution, uptime, engagement). Use insights to identify growth opportunities and implement improvements. Market Intelligence: Stay current on industry trends to inform partner strategy. Requirements: 5-7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or growth—preferably in fintech, payments, or cross-border remittances. Proven ability to lead complex deals from sourcing through implementation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to operate independently and manage multiple high-impact relationships in parallel. Highly analytical; capable of modeling business scenarios, identifying levers for optimization, and synthesizing clear recommendations. Fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred—you should feel confident holding business conversations in both languages. Comfortable navigating regulated environments and partnering with compliance and legal teams. Nice to Have: MBA or similar advanced degree. Familiarity with crypto rails (e.g., stablecoins, USD) and KYC/KYB infrastructure. Deep understanding of remittance distribution and migrant user behavior. Fluent in Spanish.
