About the Role Associate Director, Patient Assistance This role requires strategic management of patient assistance programs to ensure effective and efficient identification and addressing of gaps in patient access to therapy. The Associate Director will report directly to the Senior Director, Patient Assistance. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with three other Associate Directors to manage day-to-day operations of patient assistance programs, ensuring vendor operations, fulfillment, and customer service are seamless. - Interface with various departments, including IT, Medical, Access, Reimbursement Strategy and Support, Finance, Law, Policy, Tax, Customer Relations, Brand, Distribution, and Technical Operations, to understand obstacles faced by underserved patients. - Track progress against strategic objectives, monitor metrics, analyze trends, and proactively identify operational risks/issues and solutions. - Review, analyze, and make determinations for escalations, patient appeals, and refund/replacement requests; escalate and present extraordinary cases to management. - Manage external agencies for development of specific projects, including budget management for those projects. - Manage supply chain issues related to the patient journey through our program. - Manage new product and new indication launches into patient assistance programs and prepare for product loss of exclusivity impacting patients in our programs. - Engage with IT and data privacy on data feed development, IT mapping, website, and SharePoint development. - Develop and implement training to internal and external teams to ensure compliance with Patient Assistance policies and program business rules. - Foster a culture of inclusion, ethics, and integrity and contribute to a work environment that values diversity, perspectives, and experience. - Monitor program metrics and review against invoice for all related charges; escalate to management as necessary. - This role does not have direct reports; however, the successful candidate will be able to manage cross-functional teams and work effectively in a highly matrixed organization. Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree (Required) - Advance Degree (MBA, MS, Pharm.D, JD) a plus - A minimum of 5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or related healthcare industry, commercial, regulatory, or patient access experience desirable - In-depth understanding of access programs for the uninsured and underinsured patient populations and applicable laws and regulations (including FDA, FCA, IRA, privacy, and tax) and relevant policies - Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills as well as exceptional time and project management skills required - This role does not have direct reports; however, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of managing multiple, conflicting priorities in a rapidly evolving, fast-paced, complex environment with successful outcomes
