Job Description We're seeking an experienced BigCommerce Lead to join our team. As a BigCommerce Lead, you'll drive the development and management of our BigCommerce-based e-commerce platform. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, a deep understanding of e-commerce best practices, and experience leading development teams. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure e-commerce solutions that meet our business objectives. Responsibilities As a BigCommerce Lead, your top responsibilities will include: 1. Leading development efforts for our BigCommerce platform 2. Managing the BigCommerce platform, including customizations, integrations, and third-party applications 3. Mentoring and guiding a team of developers 4. Conducting code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards 5. Designing and developing custom BigCommerce themes, plugins, and extensions In addition to these key responsibilities, you'll also work closely with designers, developers, and project managers to deliver projects on time and within scope. You'll ensure the platform is optimized for performance, scalability, and security. Technical Leadership You'll provide technical expertise and guidance to junior developers and other team members. You'll conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes. Performance Optimization You'll identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in BigCommerce applications. You'll implement caching strategies, optimize database queries, and enhance overall application performance. Quality Assurance You'll establish and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure all developments are thoroughly tested and meet requirements. You'll identify and resolve any technical issues or bugs in a timely manner. Continuous Improvement You'll stay up to date with the latest BigCommerce updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies. You'll promote continuous learning and improvement within the team, encouraging the adoption of new tools and techniques. Collaboration and Communication You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, product managers, and marketing teams, to deliver seamless e-commerce experiences. You'll communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: 1. Deep expertise in BigCommerce development, including the Stencil framework, BigCommerce APIs, and custom theme/plugin development 2. Strong proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end development (PHP, Node.js, Java etc.) 3. Experience with RESTful API development and third-party integrations 4. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines 5.
