The associate accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles to analyse financial data and prepare internal and external financial reports. It ensures accurate recording of transactions, manages or oversees accounts related to disbursements, expenses, taxes and income, and supports processes like month-end closings and M&A; activities. The role may also contribute to the development of accounting systems and the implementation of new financial standards. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: - Analyze financial information by applying principles of accounting and prepare internal and external financial reports - Maintain or oversee the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments and income - Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy - Prepare the balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements, prepares and consolidates financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports - Design, modify, install, and/or maintain accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions - Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures and internal controls - May be responsible for month end close - May be responsible for technical support and accounting of M&A; activities - May oversee technical accounting research for complex business transactions and implementation of new accounting standards Required Knowledge and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree - Fluent in English - One or more years of relevant experience supporting finance and accounting processes - Experience giving support to audits is advantageous - Knowledge working with MS Office - Knowledge in SAP is advantageous Physical Job Requirements The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.
