Responsibilities Job Purpose: The Database Administrator is responsible for implementing enhancements to all aspects of the current & future NoSQL/OpenSource DB architecture, ensuring high performance and availability. Primary Duties include: Serve as a subject matter expert for NoSQL/OpenSource databases (primarily Mongo Atlas, PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, and others), sharing knowledge and training team members. Collaborate with development teams to identify and migrate NoSQL/OpenSource databases not managed by the DB team. Participate in on-call rotations for support. Monitor, trend, and tune NoSQL/OpenSource databases to meet SLAs. Create and automate health checks, monitoring, and reporting for NoSQL/OpenSource databases. Develop and enforce best practices within the DBA team and collaborate with development teams. Assist in designing and implementing high-performance databases. Address performance issues through scaling, configuration, or query optimization. Identify code defects, analyze root causes, and recommend improvements. Manage NoSQL/OpenSource DBs for production and non-production workloads, on-premise and in the cloud. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and identify risks. Report control weaknesses and unusual activities. Maintain ongoing training and development. Provide fair and clear communication to clients, ensuring high service quality and reporting complaints. Qualifications Experience managing Open Source/NoSQL databases such as CosmosDB and MariaDB. Experience with MSSQL/Oracle or willingness to learn. Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments. NoSQL/OpenSource DB Certification. Coding skills (PowerShell, C#, Python) for automation and API interaction. Experience with automation/orchestration tools like Jenkins, Ansible, GIT, TeamCity, Azure DevOps, Terraform.
