We are hiring a Software Support Engineer to work in a dynamic role focused on Linux-based infrastructure and applications, covering all stack layers including bare metal, virtualization (KVM), containerization (Docker/LXC/LXD), storage (Ceph, Linux filesystems), networking (OVS, OVN, Core networking), OpenStack, Kubernetes, and open source applications. This role offers a chance to demonstrate broad engineering skills across Ubuntu and open source applications used by enterprise clients. If you enjoy troubleshooting, fixing issues, and have strong communication skills, you'll thrive here. You will address critical issues in the open source stack requiring upstream bug fixes. Our engineers work across the stack, including kernel-level issues, in various programming languages to understand and resolve software problems. Our team is vital to our customers, partners, and Ubuntu's success. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting, driving issues to resolution through workarounds, guidance, and upstream bug fixes. Location: This is a remote role with teams across all time zones.
