SENIOR QA ENGINEER - [AP605]

Novopayment

We are seeking a bilingual QA Lead (Spanish or Portuguese & English) with proven leadership, discipline, and experience in payment systems or financial technology. In this role, you’ll lead and grow our QA function, define best practices, and instill engineering accountability across teams. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on execution, discipline, and excellence. You will report to the Lead QA Engineer. The ideal candidate is not only technical, but also structured, assertive, and capable of creating order where there is chaos. Responsibilities - Design and implement core platform services (card issuing, transaction processing, APIs, integrations). - Build and manage a team of QA engineers focused on manual and automated testing across services. - Define and enforce testing standards across all squads: automation, regression coverage, bug triage, and release gates. - Implement automation frameworks for API and UI testing using modern tools (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, Playwright). - Enforce quality gates in CI/CD workflows and ensure release readiness with zero tolerance for shortcuts. - Own quality KPIs (e.g., defect escape rate, test coverage, cycle time) and present them regularly to leadership. - Run structured post-mortems for any production failures — QA owns prevention, not just detection. - Be a visible quality champion across the company — push back when needed, and coach where needed. - Document processes, train developers and product managers on QA principles, and lead quality enablement initiatives. Requirements - Fluent in either Spanish or Portuguese and English (verbal and written); - 7+ years in QA, with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role. - Experience working on payment platforms or regulated fintech systems is highly preferred. - Deep understanding of QA disciplines across API, UI, backend, and integration testing. - Strong hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, Postman). - Experience implementing test coverage in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins). - Excellent communicator — able to hold engineers accountable without conflict and clearly explain quality issues to leadership. - Highly organized and disciplined — brings structure, follows process, and improves operational excellence. - Experience working remotely with distributed technical teams is a plus. - Experience in integration tests with distributed systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
