The candidate will help manage and maintain data center environments and assist with infrastructure configuration, and troubleshoot technical issues related to equipment and systems. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to executing data center projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments. Duties and Responsibilities: Data Center support technician Assisting in the day-to-day operations and activities of the Data center focusing on physical installation, cabling, initial configuration of the hardware and other hosted components Assisting in support activities following established support processes Assisting in documentation and inventory of assets and materials Data Center support: Support onsite data center and facilities including cabling of data and power connections and maintaining Data Center ancillaries inside the rack (patching) Perform physical installation and de-installation of equipment, management and maintenance of cabling plant (fiber and copper), racks, PDUs; perform standard maintenance tasks as per documented procedures Maintain environmental conditions such as heating and cooling systems to ensure operational stability Infrastructure support: Participate in installation and configuration of infrastructure equipment, server hardware, and network using standard configurations Document and report infrastructure operations, maintain accurate system configurations (Asset Management, tools, physical inventory) Maintain housekeeping and stock management of materials and supplies Keep documentation and inventory of equipment, tools, and assets up to date Liaise with technical teams and external providers on support activities, equipment deliveries, and inventory Support during weekends, holidays, or outside working hours as needed, including serving as standby personnel on a rotation basis Required Qualifications & Experience Relevant IT experience supporting enterprise data center environments Knowledge of data center standards (ANSI/TIA/BICSI) and environmental controls Understanding of Data Center Infrastructure Operations and core components (HVAC, racks, connectivity, power, cabling) Knowledge of data center hardware, network devices, and backup hardware Experience with cable testing procedures and equipment, fiber optic systems Familiarity with network configuration (Cisco switches, protocols like TCP/IP), virtualization, and automation tools Understanding of ISO2000 standards and service management Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation Knowledge of data center and network management tools Education and Certifications: Technical degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field Relevant certifications (e.g., Data Center, Cisco, ITIL, ISO) are highly desirable Additional Details Seniority level: Not Applicable Employment type: Full-time Job function: Information Technology Industries: Software Development Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Blackfluo.ai by 2x Get notified about new Data Center Technician jobs in Bogota, D.C., Capital District, Colombia .
