Job description - the eh&s; specialist is responsible for driving the safety culture by providing information and advice to plant management on matters relating to safe operations. extensive time is spent on the production floor to build effective relationships, conduct job safety observations and to be involved in decisions that affect the safety of our employees. duties and responsibilities - communicate extensively with sites safety committee members, engineers, and managers to align strategic ehs priorities - ensure compliance with all local, state, federal and kontoor environmental, health and safety regulations and policies. - assist in the development and implementation of the annual corporate ehs workplans and initiatives for improvement. - utilize the kontoor safety data software to track injuries, near misses, safety audits, corrective actions, governmental and insurance inspections, etc. - provide support to all supervisors and managers in their day-to-day operations as well as individual projects when needed. - conduct corporate ehs audits in all facilities to identify and eliminate hazards and support the facilities with the identification of effective corrective actions. - provide training on ehs programs and procedures to all the sites as needed. education - a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience in ehs experience and aptitudes - knowledge of ehs compliance and regulatory requirements. - working knowledge of microsoft office (word, excel, powerpoint, sharepoint). - demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to accom...
