The primary role of the Accounting Manager is to oversee and direct all accounting operations. Key Responsibilities - Accounting Operations - Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. - Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with local regulations and company policies. - Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support decision-making and strategic planning. - Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and implement effective solutions. - Payroll and Benefits - Manage payroll processes for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws and regulations. - Coordinate with HR to ensure timely processing of payroll, including bonuses, incentives, and benefits. - Coordinate with tax accounting firms to ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements. - Month-End Closing - Lead the month-end closing process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. - Prepare financial statements and reports for senior management review. - Tax Compliance - Stay updated on Colombian tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in all financial activities. - Prepare and file different tax reports accurately and on time. - Treasury Management - Manage cash flow and liquidity, including monitoring bank accounts and cash balances. - Coordinate foreign currency transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment. - Team Management - Lead and mentor a team of 6 accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. - Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. - Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 1-2 years in a managerial position. - In-depth knowledge of Colombian accounting principles, tax regulations, and labor laws. - Proficiency in payroll software such as NÓMINA and MS Office Suite, familiarity with Oracle NetSuite is a plus. - Experience working with tax accounting firms, year-end closing procedures and managing foreign currency transactions. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to focus on the big picture and communicate efficiently with senior management. - Excellent verbal skills, including English communication skills, with a minimum level B2 or C1 in speaking and writing. - Positive attitude and ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment.
