Our team builds insightful products that strategically and effectively utilize the data lake while making those solutions flexible and reusable enough to be used internally as well. We deliver products and services for analytics, data science, business intelligence, and reporting. Specific responsibilities will include: - Working with the development manager, product manager, and engineering team on projects related to system research, product design, product development, and defect resolution - Learning quickly and developing creative solutions that encompass performance, reliability, maintainability, and security - Participating in the development lifecycle of report generation (requirements gathering and analysis, development, testing and release) - Being willing to respond to the unique challenges of delivering and maintaining cloud-based software. This includes minimizing downtime, troubleshooting live production environments, and responding to client-reported issues - Working with other engineering personnel to ensure consistency among products - Through continued iteration of existing development processes, ensuring that we’re leading by example, fixing things that aren’t working, and always improving our expectations of ourselves and others Required skills/qualifications: - 2-4 years of relevant experience in analytics or software development - Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above. - Knowledge of professional engineering best practices for the full Agile SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. - Experience with version control and source code management Systems like GIT, Stash, or similar - Experience with Java, JavaScript frameworks, and scripting languages (such as Python, Ruby, or Groovy) - Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing - Experience developing and consuming RESTful web services and knowledge of authentication and access management protocols and products (SAML, OIDC, OAuth) - Experience creating, tuning, and optimizing indexes, stored procedures, DTS/SSIS packages, and SQL jobs Preferred skills/qualifications: - Previous experience in the education industry and with e-learning technologies - Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues. - Experience with big data: extraction, processing, filtering, and presenting large data quantities via AWS technologies, SQL, Python, and data pipelines. - Experience building Analytics dashboards and proficiency in data visualizations. - Knowledge of the AWS tool suite (Quicksight, Kinesis, API Gateway, Lambda, etc.) and relevance for each The Office: We have an office located in Bogota, Colombia as a hub for the LAC market. - Located in Capital Towers center in the financial district - Excellent and secure area to eat lunch, have a walk, or dine after office hours - Benefits in prepaid medicine, dental plan, and wellness allowance - Easy access to public transportation close to two important avenues, Carrera 7 and Calle 100 - Free parking for employees and paid parking for visitors - Multiple private spaces for virtual and face-to-face meetings - Regular events like bring your dog to work day and ping-pong, foosball, and Mario Kart tournaments - Sodexo card provided for employees - Daily budget to spend on beverage vending machines This job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required.
