Role Focus: This role centers on Anthology’s LMS, Blackboard, which offers students a simple and accessible learning experience. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the Customer Support team, supporting this evolving product line. Team Overview: Our Customer Support team has a proven record of delivering high-quality technical support. As a Client Support Engineer, you will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, liaise with customers, and collaborate with Product Development, Engineering, and third-party vendors to ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: - Provide multi-level troubleshooting and technical support via phone and email. - Work with customers and internal teams to resolve complex issues, including fault reproduction, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. - Document bugs and fixes in the Knowledge Base and support ticket system. - Represent the Customer Support department in product meetings and reviews. - Manage and mentor other engineers, providing cross-training and support. Candidate Requirements: - Familiarity with object-oriented programming, preferably Java. - Experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems. - Experience configuring multi-node enterprise applications and load-balanced environments. - Understanding of application server maintenance, OS installs, and upgrades. - Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles. - Web application development experience, ideally in Java/JEE. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Fluency in English (CEFR B2 or higher). Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of networking, routers, and configuration. - UNIX and Windows NT administration skills. - Basic web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, - Experience with Struts, Tomcat, Weblogic.
