Position: Specialist, Data Analytics Engineering Purpose Contribute to the success of the Global Technology Services - Enterprise Process Management & Compliance's IT Service Management (ITSM) Governance, Data Analytics & Reporting globally by executing specific goals, plans, and initiatives aligned with the team's business strategies. Ensure all activities comply with regulations, policies, and procedures. Accountabilities Foster a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank systems and knowledge. Report to the Senior Manager, Analytics Technology & Engineering, acting as a senior technical contributor to ensure the successful delivery of ITSM goals and initiatives in compliance with regulations and policies. Develop and maintain Data Engineering pipelines, Business Intelligence (BI), and analytics solutions, including architecture deliverables and technical consultations. Solutions include Windows/Web applications, workflows, automation scripts, ETL solutions, dashboards, and more, following technology policies and procedures. Provide use cases and requirements for feeder systems to capture relevant data. Work evenings and/or weekends as needed to meet deliverables. Consider the Bank's risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions. Ensure operational efficiency and compliance with Scotiabank's values, Code of Conduct, and risk management principles, including AML/ATF and sanctions compliance. Promote a high-performance and inclusive work environment. Reporting Relationships Primary Manager: Senior Manager, Analytics Technology & Engineering Education / Experience / Other Strong communication skills, capable of synthesizing complex ideas. 3-4 years of hands-on experience in developing and maintaining data-driven solutions, including data modeling, database design, BI, ETL, and data visualization. 3+ years as a Data Engineer, Database Designer, or Data Architect, with performance tuning experience. 3+ years of experience in requirements and architecture documentation. 2+ years creating reports with MS Excel, PowerBI, DAX, or Power Query. Proficiency in Python, R, VBA, or similar languages. 2+ years working with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Bitbucket, or Confluence. 1+ year experience in predictive analytics and Machine Learning (asset). Troubleshooting BI modeling issues and developing solutions. Experience leading SDLC processes. Assets include exposure to LLMs, GCP, or other cloud technologies. Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
