Purpose As a key contributor to the International Technology CCA at Scotiabank, you will play a vital role in ensuring that specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Accountabilities - Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. - Promote a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment. - Collaborate closely with all units within the Business Line, business/country users, and team members to understand business processes and user requirements, driving the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. - Participate in system implementation by defining business requirements and processes, developing test strategies and cases, performing testing (identifying, evaluating, escalating, resolving problems, and supporting team members), defining user procedures and workflows, developing conversion and implementation strategies, verifying conversion, providing user documentation, training, and post-implementation support. - Engage in the full development lifecycle of business solutions by analyzing and clearly defining user requirements, assisting in test case development and testing, and supporting user documentation, training, and post-implementation activities. - Develop cost-effective and efficient applications to meet business objectives by analyzing user requirements, providing technical specifications, designing, and maintaining programs according to standards, ensuring high availability, integrity, and reliability to mitigate risks. - Implement new systems or enhancements by reviewing team-written programs, establishing and executing system tests, developing implementation plans, documenting programs and systems, and providing post-implementation support and training to operations staff. - Provide technical guidance and reviews to team members through walkthroughs. - Stay current with technological trends, self-educate on new technologies, and understand the division's business and technology strategies. - Independently resolve complex problems to meet business needs by applying financial, business, and technological knowledge, involving research, analysis, and liaising with users. - Manage multiple small projects or lead sections of large projects, including planning, scheduling, resource management, progress monitoring, and securing stakeholder consensus. - May include tracking work assignments, status reporting, and configuring automation test cases. - Provide off-hours support for Regulatory Reports tasks if required. - Support application users and production environments through troubleshooting, training, and issue resolution. - Maintain production servers, including patching, vulnerability remediation, and performance management. - Supervise junior staff, support project leaders, and assist in developing detailed work plans and monitoring progress. - Consider the bank's risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions. - Ensure operational efficiency and compliance with the bank's values, conduct, and risk management policies, including operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risks.
